We are living in atrocity after atrocity, from coming out of Iraq to a hyper environmental warning of an undercooked bat in Wuhan, China, on the 8th December 2019, now the Ukraine and its allies are being bombarded by Russia’s Putin and co-diplomats, in a very undiplomatic war over oil, that could turn into Genocide. Tower Blocks in London can expect new levels of safety according to a new government report. Australia is upping its war defences in light of Russia, and L.A. women are up in arms over human rights.

“1. So far, 1.74mn refugees have evacuated Ukraine, mostly on buses, to travel long distances, 1mn now in Poland making them a target. Hungary have sent weapons of mass destruction via other countries directly to the Ukraine, but this refugee crisis is second to the failure of settlement in WWII.

It is of course over natural gas and oil, so Boris Johnson has stated: that he is not dropping commitment to cut carbon emissions but that the UK needs greater self-sufficiency in its energy sources and will look to North Sea power for oil and natural gas, on home turf. 8% of UK oil resources come from Russia, now roiled by outbreak of war.

Wang Yi a friend of Russia, seeks a ceasefire as opposed to the Indo-Pacific version of NATO being led by the US. Foreign troops are being called to bolster Russian troops particularly from Syria.

2. Reliance in Europe on fossil fuels with the Ukrainian war, means we could seek to push for renewables, but it always seems to be the last solution, despite Europe’s ever-growing consciousness, to be the first to take it seriously, and to find intuitive ways of making power out of the force of the weather.

3. During COVID-19 because of pressure on childcare, parents with children under 10 years of age, had to consider resigning. 1/4 women in the UK, and 1/8 men resigned to look after their children, the equivalent of 1.7mn women and 1.3 mn men in the US. But slowly new job opportunities are emerging as spending goes up. Along with inflation, and caps on student fees, making going to university these days much less likely.

4. Scientists believe in the UK research laboratories that 16 genes are specific to causing symptoms of COVID-19, very similar to Sars-Cov-2, a variant found in Japan, China and Thailand, so hold fire on travelling to the East until we are in the clear.

5. Michael Gove has warned the house building industry to put through a £4bn tower block safety plan after Grenfell, in 2017, causing 72 deaths. The Home Builders Federation calculate buildings back to 2000 would only cost £1bn on remedial works and repairs, while private finance will pay for those towers privately owned.

6. Australia spends A$10bn (US$7.4bn) on nuclear powered submarine base on its East coast after PM Scott Morrison warned of the threat to autocracies.

7. California women are protesting against joking, harassment and sexual bullying after outcries from L.A. diplomats.”[i]
