My writing stems from 2001 and I got deeply philosophical, and highly creative at home in Cardiff.
I was inspired by an essay from the Spanish author, Estrella Diégo, entitled: ‘Going Without the Exotic’, based on Gulliver’s Travels, that did not accept his found possessions as useful curios, in order to accept his own exoticism in the light of those seen, as the only ones to be so. By the traditional dominance of the Western philosophical dream, hence the title; by the César Manrique Foundation, Lanzarote, Canary Islands, Spain.
I made a number of books of “right-on’s”, in the vain of a favourite song at the time, to understand truths, poetry, philosophy and creative prose. (Newsom, Joanna, The Book of Right-On, ℗ 2004, Drag City Records) I plan to publish this book in the future; the song was famously remade in 2010, (The Roots, Right On [feat. Joanna Newsom & STS] E., 2010, The Island Def Jam Music Group)
I concluded at the turn of the Millennium, in the Year 2000, we should vote for the exotic, the opposite to the apotheosis of the essay’s conclusion, but similarly return our treasure to its origins, by celebrating the complexity of history of East meets West; to return Gold and jewels and artwork and curios, so in turn I am also in agreement with the essay to go without the material exotic.
There is a pro-red-black-yellow-brown-and-white vibe running through the blog’s literature and entertainment on behalf of those ancestors who pass down stories of not just black, but ‘Personal Oppression’. To care for your brother or sister, side by side, and to find no equivocal differences in all colours that matter! It is complex to realise how history must be attained of a justified equality, by human rights of all peoples and nations coming together for the first time in history; as an end to ‘Global War’ and the beginning of healing each persons personal dream by way of helping to listen through empathy, and sharing the wealth of knowledge and not just money, hence the purpose of the free blog, for copyright I charge £50/each, see footer.
Therefore, what is exotic that we must attain here, but the arts through food, sex, love, creativity, money, relations and prayer, in our multiculturalism, and inter-faith beliefs, in the same God, with the prophecy of musical history to be an answer to todays language of life; by way of celebrating the millennium, in virtue of the famous Roy Ayers track, “2000 has got to be black”, which I remember listening to in Cardiff during my University days,
Ayers, Roy, 2000 Black, ℗ 1975, Roy Ayers & James Green, (The Verve Music Group, a division of UMG Recordings, Inc.).
