There is a light in the room.
A shadow is cast, and it keeps on changing. The light goes on and then off, if you are not at home, it can feel exciting. But in the everyday you get used to it. Where the light shines and refracts and actually, every time it is different.
There is a demeanour in everyone of us, that we wish we could modernise the entire World to a Map of affluence into ephemeral constant flux. There is so much Artificial Intelligence rapidly moving into robotics, and form making, we want it all to meld by the Maker and be built and keep changing. Therefore, while a skin of construction becomes the here and now, post and beam construction still prevails in most modern continuums as an economical and flexible structural method.
If we understand we must go further than our understanding and reckoning, then count the raw materials. And see a planet of only land use available, what are we to do, but use reclaimed materials in the long run. How else can we end this state of panic. At the end of the day not many things change, but survival.
Or is it beauty? And its interpretation keeps changing? Future visions have more power than looking at old buildings, yet the grandeur of the old was built more rigorously. Really this new world seems to be going through a rebellion of new images, beyond belief, through technologies, that push the making of the final product. To the point a lot of our surroundings have died, in our minds. Like a funeral for a friend.
But why? The answer is to solve a problem and do it dextrously so, until new forms come about almost for their own sake. Like a competition. But practicality of complexity tends to be a rational for new form making in the modern world, that it has to be original also.
New constructive methods can be sexy and gorgeous, through a newfound freedom, to be interpreted as a luxury in comparison, to jettison daily trite. Like every Architect, we are very opinionated about succinct simplicity out of complexity. Therefore, it does not tend to be for its own sake. Although there are novel Architects who push form making to test finding original solutions to problems never thought of before, which in their mind came from an aim to be the most beautiful designer in the World, in grace.
THE END
